Microsoft has released an update (10/22/2015) to their Visio stencils and images for use in drawing architectural and system diagrams using the Microsoft platform technologies. Using these symbols to describe systems built with Azure and other Microsoft products helps establish a consistent visual language. This speeds the understanding of system scenarios and architectures and anchors discussions among your employees, customers, and other 3rd parties.
My intuition tells me that this is only the first step toward making Visio the standard for drawing then deploying Azure Resource Manager Templates based upon a JSON payload. Time will tell…
